Nick Scali Reviews: Quick Feng Shui Tips

Quite often we hear about the power of Feng Shui… some say it’s been around for 5,000 years, so surely this is an indication that it must hold some truth in it’s philosophy.

Whatever your beliefs, Feng Shui can definitely make the difference in your home, even if it’s just a case of  “A change is as good as a holiday!”, as the saying goes..  So here are some simple tips that can help Feng Shui your home:

Clear out your clutter

How many times do you look around your home, or open a messy drawer and think to yourself that you “must get around to that one day”. Everyone should de-clutter their house once a year, if not bi-monthly.  One good idea is that every time you bring something into your home, you make sure you take something out.

A simple way of de-cluttering – is if you don’t love it, get rid of it!   If you don’t need something but are finding it hard to let go, then pass it onto a friend or family member or charity.  Another way of de-cluttering is having a garage sale, this way you are making money at the same time as re-organising your life!

It may be an exhausting process at first, but by the end of it you will feel like you have achieved a new beginning, and will feel fresh and ready to take on more.  Your house or your car, or your office, when spending time in them, can often clutter up your mind. So re-organising your environments can have a positive effect on your mind and body also.

Is your home breathing and seeing properly? Give it some air and light…

Never underestimate the power of oxygen and good quality lighting for good Feng Shui in your home.  Open your windows at least once a day.  You can buy some air-purifying plants like palms or use an air-purifier.  Also allow for as much natural light to come into your home, it might even be worth installing a sunlight if your windows do not allow for enough sunlight.  You can also use full-spectrum lights (light bulbs that emulates natural light) to get the right amount of light into your home.
